Security Network Engineer - 6+ months - Remote & Germany - Start ASAP

For our international client, we are looking for an experienced Security Network Engineer.
Your main task is to support the client in the security review of new end user requests for network access.
This is not a position where network configuration work will be required.

Tasks:
* Security review of new end user requests for network access
* Validate requests and collect approvals
* Review if network access request is in line with security guidelines
* Troubleshoot issues
* Support end users in creation of network access requests in applicable forms
* Track and complete requests

Requirements:
* Strong project experience as an Engineer
* Long-term project experience in Networks (LAN, WLAN, OSI, TCP/IP stack)
* Project experience in network security (Network segmentation, zero trust, segregation of duties, least privilege etc.)
* Experience with firewalls (eg fortigate or similar)
* Experience in reviewing requests, validating and tracking

Project details:
* Start: October
* Duration: 6 months (+ option to extend)
* Workload: 5 days per week
* Location: Mainly remote, some on site workshops in Germany may be required
* Languages: Fluency in English
