Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Technical Support: Assist end-users during the migration by troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues such as driver incompatibility, application errors, and connectivity problems.
- Device Configuration: Ensure that all devices, including desktops, laptops, and peripheral hardware, are properly configured and fully compatible with Windows 11.
- Data Management: Perform data backup and recovery tasks, including transferring large datasets, restoring critical files, and verifying data integrity to prevent loss during the migration.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT team members, including system administrators, network engineers, and security specialists, to streamline the transition process and address multi-layered issues.
- Issue Documentation: Keep detailed records of encountered problems, resolution steps, and any recurring challenges for future reference and process improvement.
- User Training: Provide hands-on training and resources to end-users on navigating Windows 11, including its features like Snap Layouts, Widgets, and Microsoft Teams integration.
- Continuous Learning: Stay informed about Windows 11 updates, troubleshooting tools, and industry best practices to enhance support capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or similar IT support role.
- Strong expertise in Windows operating systems, with a focus on Windows 11 deployment and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with migration projects, including imaging tools like SCCM, MDT, or Intune.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to address issues ranging from software compatibility to hardware upgrades.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively guide users through technical processes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or ITIL Foundation, are advantageous.
Preferred Skills:
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced features in Excel, Outlook, and Teams, as well as other industry-standard applications.
- Backup and Recovery Expertise: Skilled in data recovery tools and practices to ensure seamless restoration of files and configurations.
- Network Knowledge: Understanding of network and system administration, including basic Active Directory and Group Policy troubleshooting.
- Training Skills: Proven ability to create and deliver end-user training, including step-by-step guides and video tutorials, for enhanced adoption of the new environment.
- Peripheral Setup: Experience with setting up printers, scanners, and other peripherals post-migration to ensure seamless functionality.
