RED Global’s climate target approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative.
Blog post

We’re pleased to announce that RED Global’s near-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction target has been officially approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
This is a major milestone in our sustainability journey, and one that reinforces our long-term commitment to aligning with the latest climate science and helping limit global warming to 1.5°C.
Our commitment
RED Global has committed to:
- Reducing absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2023 base year
- Measuring and reducing Scope 3 emissions across our value chain
This approval puts us on the map alongside thousands of organisations taking meaningful climate action, and strengthens our ability to meet the evolving ESG expectations of our clients and partners.
Action underway
We’ve already begun integrating emissions reduction into how we operate globally, with initiatives focused on:
- Improving energy efficiency across our office network
- Exploring renewable energy options
- Engaging our suppliers and wider ecosystem to support further reductions
We’ll report our progress annually and transparently, holding ourselves accountable as we move toward our 2030 goal.
A message from our CEO
“Securing SBTi approval is a proud moment for RED Global. It reflects our responsibility to take real, science-based climate action, and supports the growing number of clients who are embedding sustainability into their own operations and partnerships. This is about future-proofing our business, driving positive impact, and doing what’s right.” Ross Eades, CEO, RED Global
Why it matters
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) helps businesses set climate targets that align with what’s needed to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. SBTi approval gives our clients, many of whom have SBTi-aligned supply chain requirements, confidence that RED Global is taking credible, science-based action.
We’re proud to be part of this movement, and we encourage our clients, suppliers, and partners to take similar steps.
