SAP Project Manager (S/4HANA Migration - RISE Private Cloud)
I am currently seeking 1 SAP Project Manager, fluent in German to join a long-term upgrade project (S/4HANA 2021 On-premise to S/4HANA 2025 RISE - Private Cloud).
The SAP Project Manager will oversee the migration program, coordinate with the implementation partner, and ensure delivery is on time, in scope, and according to agreed standards.
Contract Details
- Start: ASAP
- Load: 50% for 1-2 months, then full-time
- Hybrid: 2-3 days per week on site in Munich
- Engagement: Direct with end client
Location & Availability
- Munich, Germany - 2-3 days per week on site
- Initial workload: 50% for the first 1-2 month - Full-time thereafter (100%)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle for the S/4HANA 2021 → 2025 RISE migration.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the end client and the implementation partner.
- Hold the implementation partner accountable for deliverables, timelines, risks, and quality.
- Review project plans, technical designs, migration approaches, test strategy, and cutover planning.
- Coordinate internal client stakeholders (IT, business, architecture, security).
- Drive RAID management (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
- Facilitate steering committees, status reporting, and decision documentation.
- Ensure alignment with SAP Activate methodology.
- Oversee integration testing, UAT, data migration cycles, and go-live readiness.
- Support change management and communication across the business.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, controls, and audit requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience as an SAP Project Manager on S/4HANA programs.
- Proven track record delivering S/4HANA migrations or upgrades, ideally including RISE.
- Excellent vendor-management skills; able to challenge and push back constructively.
- Deep understanding of SAP Activate, testing cycles, cutover, and data migration.
- Experience managing hybrid delivery teams (client, SI, offshore).
- Strong communication, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Able to operate in a fast-moving enterprise environment with senior stakeholders.
- Based within commuting distance to Munich or willing to travel.
